New video by Camberwell College of Arts BA Graphic Design alumni Kate Moross and Hans Lo (ISO) for the L-Vis 1990 track ‘Feel the Void’, which is taken from his album ‘Neon Dreams’.
A really strong piece of animation from Camberwell BA Illustration alumnus Jens Blank for Greenpeace. The animation is part of their ongoing campaign against the illegal fishing practices that take place inside the European Union. If you want to find out more visit – www.greenpeace.org.uk/oceans

LuckyPDF TV is back! Over the next four days (13-16 October) LuckyPDF will be broadcasting live from Frieze Art Fair having been commissioned as part of this year’s Frieze Projects. Join them from 16.00 each day at the Fair or online.
Plugs aside the main reason for posting about LuckyPDF is that due to the nature of their practice, which the group’s John Hill (Camberwell BA Drawing alumnus) describes “as being located at the forefront of communication, networking and new methods of production”, it means that a whole slew of Camberwell College of Arts alumni have been and continue to be a part of their projects.
Their Frieze commission will feature 50 established and emerging artists, curators and critics. The list of names includes Cory Arcangel, Jeremy Deller, David Batchelor and Jeremy Bailey. The Camberwell alumni that will be involved are – Daniel Swan (BA Graphic Design), Samara Scott (BA Illustration), Gili Tal (BA Painting), Chris King and Robert Prouse (both BA Drawing).
Happy viewing!

This delightful film, which is currently been shown in the ‘Power of Making’ show at the V&A was made by Camberwell BA Graphic Design graduate Justine Melford-Colegate as part of her final project for the BA show.
The project began on a research trip in Iceland, where she collected pieces of volcanic rock from an eruption site. The melting point for basalt volcanic rock is 1800°c. Her film captures the process of returning the rock to molten lava and then using the historical method of sand casting.
You can find out more about sand casting via Process Arts, where Camberwell’s Philip White (the narrartor on Justine’s film) talks us through the process.

Camberwell College of Arts BA Illustration alumna Bea Wilson will be showing her short film ‘Arkham’ at the Sassoon Gallery as part of the Peckham Artist Moving Image (PAMI) Festival.
‘Arkham’, “is one of the outcomes of an ongoing project exploring fictional landscapes. The work derived inspiration from the visions of such authors as Stanislaw Lem, Jorge Luis Borges, and in particular from H.P. Lovecraft, whose descriptions of otherworldly phenomena in his short story ‘The Colour Out of Space’ were a key influence. Lovecraft set his story in the fictional land of Arkaham, the landscape of which has had a strong visual impact on this work. The alien and supernatural changes which take place in Arkham appear in the film as colour, streaks and shapes on the landscape, produced through experimentation with hand processing super 8 film.”
The PAMI Festival – is an initiative to highlight moving image artwork, made by an international selection of artists, in a concentrated four-day programme of exhibitions and events across Peckham. It runs from 15 – 18 September 2011. Previews on Wednesday 14 September.
Recently came across this interview with Camberwell College of Arts BA Graphic Design alumni Josh Walsh and Nick McQueen whilst browsing the excellent REcreative website.
Josh and Nick formed Silvasilva whilst still at Camberwell. Here they talk about the ideas and thinking behind their visual identity for The Woodmill.
